  1. Kia ora Yazmine,

My name is Rachel and I am working on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is great to see that you are actively participating! I really enjoyed reading your post about Samoa. I have not yet had the chance to visit but I would absolutely love to go. I have heard that it is very beautiful and very relaxing. How often do you get the chance to go back to Samoa to visit? I hope that you are able to see your Samoan family often.

Most of my family actually live in Canada (where I was born and raised). I'm from an area called 'Ontario' which is in the middle of the country. It is very cold there at the moment and everyone is getting ready to celebrate Christmas in the snow. Have you ever played in the snow? I really miss it now that I live permanently in Auckland, however, I do appreciate living in such a beautiful, safe country like New Zealand.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season and a really happy new year. I'll look forward to reading your work over the summer and posting comments.

Keep up the great work, Yazmine!

    Cheers,
    Rachel
